Which one of these 4 personality Types?
In 2006 I was flying back from a Business Meeting, and before I got on my flight I picked up some food, water, and magazines for the 3 Hour flight ahead of me. I was reading through one of my magazines “The Best Life” which no longer is in Business, so don’t look for it..lol
I came across an article that was titled “Every company has 4 Types of People”. After I read it, I created a speech called the 4 W’s, and this speech was so impactful I used all over the U.S. As I relayed this speech I realized people in the World fell in this category not just Companies.
So keep reading and see where you fit…
Every person is a Warrior, Worker, Whiner, or Weasel
The article stated that ONLY 1% of people are Warriors, 80% are Workers, 9% are Whiners, and 10% are Weasels. I feel this relates to every organization, family, team, business, and companies.
I remember relaying this speech to Bank of America, and I can remember the coldness I received which just made me realize that this group of people had more Weasels than anything. So, let me explain… Keep Reading
Warriors: To define a Warrior is like defining a 1%ER. They take initiative, they don’t whine, they don’t even ask questions the just move forward. They tend to be envied, they always are first to strive and never strive to be #1, because Warriors compete with themselves. Meaning they are constantly critiquing themselves, and are always trying to beat their own records. They are professionals, they Master their profession, and while everyone is bullshitting they are studying and working to perfect their art. While others are complaining and blaming the world, upbringing, or their organization, they are thinking up new ways to build the organization. They move forward while everyone is too busy making excuses, or are just ok with getting by, which brings me to person #2.
Workers: The world is filled with this person; we call them the m-ASSes. They are not motivated by winning, competing, or getting any kind of attention from their peers. They tend to be lazy, and don’t really have many desires, because they don’t believe they can achieve it, or in most cases they just don’t care. They can’t wait to go home, and usually are just plain predictable. Don’t ask them to do more than what is required, because “that’s not their job”. They hate their job, but work hard enough to hold on to it, because they got to pay the debt that they put themselves in, and always wish they made more, but doesn’t want the responsibility of the position that pays more. Then they would have to work… Even though the word work is in their title worker, they will just do enough not to get noticed, but the world is filled with workers, and they are the backbone of our society, because we don’t want to offend popular belief. We can give them crap, but they are at least one step above Person #3.
Whiners: I won’t spend too much time which this person, because no one listens to them anyway. They complain to fit in, but don’t even know what they complain about, they complain just to complain, hoping someone will even listen. The good news is if you put a Whiner with a Warrior, they will see what is possible, and possibly stop whining, but at least they’re not lazy, just never shut up. No matter how annoying this person is, the scum of the earth is #4, and you MUST get rid of these people or STAY away.
Weasels: The “misery man march” is what these people fall under, and let me be as blunt as possible. If the company, team, church, family is yours… Eliminate these people like a farmer would if he caught it on his farm. If it’s not your business, or organization, stay as far away from these people a possible. They spend their whole day plotting, scheming, and poisoning every mind in a 100 mile radius of them. They are the limpidity of envy and pain. I feel sorry for these people, but at the same time they cannot be helped. What is a WEASEL? They constantly talk about people, the company, and always have a conspiracy theory. They are consistently worried, paranoid, and hate anything positive. Don’t give them good news, they will find a way to criticize it. They use the term “we should do this, and we should do that” i.e. WE.asel. They are so insecure to be alone they want everyone around them in misery, because they can’t hack it in the world. They are so filled with pain, rage, and envy… that they have made a decision that the World screwed them, and if they can’t catch a break, no one around them are allowed to as well. They can take a perfectly great dream, and convince you that there is no point, to just give up like they did. In my opinion these people are PURE evil. They usually are not happily married, they don’t get along with family, they are one step away from pure loneliness, and god forbid they are ever in financial striates, they are homeless, because no one will deal with them. Weasels never have anything to share, and are always questioning success, or anyone that has it. They plant seeds of poison, and want to make sure that when they take a dive, you are coming with.
In my 10 years of working with people in Business, I have eliminated many Weasels, and the longer you hang on to them the more damage they will do later. When you find them, ELIMINATE and do not give them a second chance, because they will smile in your face, and wait for that moment to ruin everything you have built, because they envy what they can’t do or be.
